Wei Wong

Wei was born in Borneo, Malaysia in 1968. In 1986, Wei and his family moved to Canada and settled in Edmonton, Alberta to experience life in a completely different world. His artistic interest was apparent at an early age and he loved to spend his time drawing sketching and painting. Wei was immediately captured by the mysterious and mystical Northern Lights which has inspired much of his artistic work.

His primary medium was Watercolor, but in the early 2000's, he shifted his focus to photography. Embracing the beauty of the Canadian landscapes surrounding him, Wei has been able to capture a variety of subjects from the grandeur of the Edmonton Skyline to water cascading over rocks. A self taught photographer, Wei is passionate about finding the beauty in details and objects that others may pass over.

Wei has mastered the art of reproducing these images on canvas in the large format thus being able to create larger than life images that begin with the photograph.

Wei began his career in the Fine Art and Framing business in 1987 and today owns and operates one of Edmonton's largest wholesale Framing Businesses in Alberta.
