Chris Jones
Small Sculptures in Pewter & Bronze

The original designs of the small sculptures were created by David Goldsmith a veteran sculptor and scrimshaw artist from Saskatchewan. When David and his wife wanted to retire, they approached their long-time friend, Chris Jones to take over their business. In 2008, Chris Jones purchased the business from the Goldsmiths and continued to produce the small sculptures series.

I have worked my whole life in the arts. I have owned and operated movie theatres in Winnipeg and Saskatoon and coordinated film festivals, comedy and Fringe Festivals. Since 1996 I have worked as Member Services Coordinator for the Saskatchewan Craft Council helping craft and visual artists market their work at retail markets throughout the province and beyond. I look forward to adding new images to the variety of sculptures in the current series and providing the market with a distinctive and quality product.

The original design is created in fine detail in clay, a mould is created and molten pewter or bronze is poured to create the cast sculpture.

Once cooled, the sculpture goes through a final polishing and then is shadowboxed framed.

Small sculptures are represented by Rowles & Company in Edmonton.
